Day 4


Today marked the first day of classes, which surprisingly weren't too bad. Between my two classes I grabbed a quick sandwich, booked my upcoming weekend trip to Prague, and ordered an Austrian iced coffee. This version of iced coffee ironically doesn't include ice, but instead consists of vanilla ice cream, coffee, and whipped cream. It was a delicious way to kill time between my classes. My last class ended around 6:05 and I was home by 7, changed by 7:10, and at dinner by 7:45 to celebrate a friend's 20th birthday. I've only been here for four days, but it feels like four weeks with how busy I've been. I've been making the most of my time here, but I'm very excited to have a chill day tomorrow. Thursday is a national holiday in Vienna so luckily we have a four day weekend coming up, which I'll be spending in Prague with a group of friends. Needless to say, I can't wait for the adventure. Stay tuned to see how it goes!

The majority of Sunday consisted of traveling back to Vienna. Anjali and I spent 9 hours on the bus ride home, but we made the most of it by working on our final papers for health psych. After we reached Vienna, I unpacked and took myself on a date. I walked around the first district until I found exactly what I was looking for - wiener schnitzel. I enjoyed my glass of wine, wiener schnitzel, potato salad, and last but not least, dessert! I may or may not have dropped €30 on myself, but who treats me better than myself? It was so lovely not checking my phone or the time and just being in my own company. Also, there was no way that I could resist this dessert...look at it. Just look at it. It was a night well spent, especially exploring the city afterwards :)

Day 41

On Wednesday, I appreciated one of the last sunsets on the roof by myself. It was one of my favorite views of the city. As the end of my trip neared, I felt a wave of emotions. Mostly sadness to be leaving such a wonderful city but excitement for the future (especially for a week in Italy with my mom)!

Day 12

Yesterday was a busy, busy day. I woke up, attended classes, grabbed ice cream with friends, walked around the first district for awhile, and caught up on my blog while sitting on a window sill with a nice view. Following all of this, I attended a dance lesson with everyone to learn the quadrille for the Concordia Ball on Friday. I'm super excited for everything in store this upcoming weekend - exploring the pubs here in Vienna on Thursday, a day trip to Semmering on Friday, the ball on Friday night, a day trip to Bratislava on Saturday, and a visit to the Freud museum on Sunday!
