Day 8
On Friday, I ate breakfast at the hostel and then took a walking tour of the city. I saw some pretty neat things and learned a lot from the guide. The conclusion of the tour led us to a pub where we all sat to grab a beer and talk for awhile. The guy sitting across from me was from Australia so I questioned him about the pace of life, government, and overall lifestyle. He explained to me that the labor party is the left-wing party and the liberal party is the right-wing party. Also, he told me that the pace of life is much slower in comparison to America and that Americans work too hard. Apparently, a typical work day in Australia consists of multiple coffee breaks and an hour and a half lunch break. Who knew one could work AND enjoy life?? A concept America seems to lack, in my opinion. After everyone finished their drink, we returned to the hostel for a bit before going out to dinner. We treated ourselves to gelato again - this time raspberry, but still delicious. I enjoyed my treat and explored by myself for awhile before we all went out on our pub crawl. We visited four bars, including a five story club, and had ourselves a night. Prague is definitely a city that parties hard and I enjoyed every second of it. I had my first two (baby) shots of absinthe, danced like a mad woman, and had the time of my life. I didn't return to the hostel until 4 am, but it was so worth it. I think I got a total of 14 hours of sleep the entire weekend, but whatever I'll sleep when I'm dead. For now, I'm living :)
