Day 17


I awoke around noon on Sunday and soon after made brunch plans with two friends and our Australian pals. We met up around 2 pm, ate, and reminisced about the previous night. The "Italian Breakfast" was quite splendid and satisfied my empty stomach. I was ravenous. An hour and a half later, we parted ways. One was headed back to Australia, the other to Budapest. I'm glad we had the chance to spend time with such fun people on multiple occasions. From there, my friends and I headed to an ice cream parlor to complete our German homework of ordering ice cream using everything we've learned this far. Life's rough. Afterwards, I went home and attempted to work on a group presentation due Tuesday, made little progress, and decided to go to bed instead. Sounds about right!

Today at a glance: 7:30 - woke up 9:00-10:30 - German 10:30-1:00 - ate lunch & organized my schedule 1:00-2:30 - Health psychology 2:45-3:30 - rode the tram home  4:00-5:30 - napped (essential)  6:00-8:00 - homework, cleaned, cooked dinner 8:00-10:30 - drank wine & talked with friends  I should mention that I switched out of 4:35-6:05 (Psychology and Society in Vienna) to 1:00-2:30 (Health psychology) so that I was able to be in the same class as all of my friends. Although I would have enjoyed the content of psychology and society more so than health psychology, I was smart enough to download all of the readings from the society course so that I can still learn about it! Yes, I know, I am quite resourceful. All in all, everything worked out and I am one happy girl!

Day 2

Today I went on a walking/bus tour of the city and was able to see some pretty neat sights. They were all very scenic and I was amazed by the view from overlooking the city. Also, I learned that Vienna has been voted the best city in the world to live in nine years in a row which doesn't surprise me at all! After the tours, I enjoyed a lovely meal and wine with good company. Overall, it was a day well spent!

Day 33

Tuesday, I attended classes and went home to change for the opera. We waited in line and then secured our seats in the standing room. We had an hour before the performance began so we went downstairs for a snack and glass of champagne. The show was an incredible experience; there was so much pure and raw talent. Also, music is an integral part of Viennese culture so we had to experience it at least once. We left after the second act and bought kebabs and ice cream and walked around for a bit. It was a very good day overall.
